  • Focuses on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters, fintech projects and regulatory matters.

Ekaterina’s legal practice involves advising clients on debt and equity capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and various regulatory matters, including blockchain, cryptocurrencies, internet regulation, personal data and financial services regulations. Prior to joining Akin, Ekaterina worked as a senior associate in the Moscow office of an international (Magic Circle) law firm.

Representative Work
  • Advised PJSC LUKOIL in its issuance of $2.3 billion Rule 144A/Regulation S notes in two tranches: (i) $1.15 billion 2.80 percent 5.5-year notes due 2027 and (ii) $1.15 billion 3.60 percent 10-year notes due 2031 issued by LUKOIL Capital DAC (a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL) and guaranteed by PJSC LUKOIL.
  • Advised various Russian corporates, such as SIBUR Holding (a petrochemical company), PhosAgro (a producer of fertilizers, phosphates and feed phosphates), X5 Retail Group (a food retailer) and Federal Grid Company (an operator of Russian unified national power grid) on their several Eurobond issues.
  • Advised various Russian banks, including Tinkoff Bank, Russian Standard Bank, Nomos Bank, Otkritie Bank, Bank Renaissance Credit and SovcomBank, on their several Eurobond issues (including regulatory capital).
  • Advised joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners on M.Video-Eldorado Group’s €197 million secondary public offering.
  • Advised selling shareholders in connection with block trade transactions with respect to shares in various Russian companies, including MMK (a metals company), LSR Group (a real estate developer) and Magnit (a food and cosmetics retailer).
  • Advised LSR Group, a Russian developer, with respect to the public tender offer of its global depository receipts (GDRs) and subsequent cancelling of their listing on the London Stock Exchange.
