Akin False Claims Act/qui tam defense partner Colin Huntley is quoted by CBS News in an article titled, “Justice Department to start fast-tracking benefits fraud enforcement.” The article examines the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Division’s recent announcement to accelerate the review of False Claims Act whistleblower complaints alleging fraud against federally funded, state-administered benefits programs.

Drawing from his role as former Deputy Director of the DOJ’s Civil Fraud Section, Colin tells CBS News that the amount of time these cases take is “highly variable” and that the speed of decisions is determined by “scope and complexity.”

Colin continues saying that there's “no replacement for thoroughness.”
