It’s been a busy couple of weeks in the orbit of Washington. President Trump nominated a new NASA Administrator, and the “Big Beautiful Bill” gave Space Force a big budget bump. Meanwhile, scientists and the commercial space industry closed ranks to advocate against NASA and NOAA budget cuts. Outside the Beltway, China may have accomplished an orbital servicing first and space partners around the world are recalibrating strategies and expectations as U.S. space policy shifts.
