Nasdaq’s New Diversity Disclosure Framework Approved by the SEC

On Friday, August 6, 2021, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a new set of disclosure requirements for companies listed on Nasdaq trading platforms. These new rules regarding board diversity and related disclosures will require Nasdaq-listed companies, subject to certain exceptions, to increase diversity in their boardrooms or disclose why they have not done so.
