Summary

According to the State Council’s 2024 Legislative Plan, it will submit the draft AI Law to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for review in 2024. The draft law is not available to the public. On April 16, 2024, various Chinese legal institutes and universities jointly published Artificial Intelligence Model Law 2.0 (Expert Suggestion Draft), which clearly distinguishes the AI license management system implemented based on the negative list from the registration system for AI activities outside the negative list to avoid excessive compliance burdens that affect the business expectations of the AI industry.
