Getty Images, Inc. Files Suit Against Stability AI Over IP Infringement

Getty Images, Inc. filed suit against Stability AI in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware over infringement of Getty Images’ intellectual property rights. According to the complaint, Stability AI’s unlicensed usage of over 12 million copyrighted images violates the Copyright Act, the Lanham Act and Delaware’s trademark and unfair competition laws. The complaint also alleges that images produced by Stability AI reproduce Getty Images’ watermark, damaging Getty Images’ trademark, and produce highly derivative content that itself might violate copyright.
