Akin Again Named Among ‘Healthiest Employers’ in Texas

Akin has again finished in the top three in the Healthiest Employers contest for Texas, taking third in the “500 to 1,499 Employees” category (read about the firm’s 2022 showing here).

The Healthiest Employer contests were created to recognize “people-first organizations taking a more proactive approach to employee health.” Award applicants were evaluated across six key categories: Culture and Leadership, Foundational Components, Strategic Planning, Communication and Marketing, Programming and Interventions, and Reporting and Analytics.

The firm’s published profile spotlights the expansion of its former fitness reimbursement to a Fitness and Well-Being Reimbursement program and the increases of the monthly reimbursement allowance from $35 to $50 as well as of the types of eligible expenses in 2022. Healthiest Employers, the sponsoring organization, reports “the utilization of this benefit by U.S. personnel increased by nearly 40% compared to the previous year, with 43% of the eligible population taking advantage of it, resulting in a 115% increase in reimbursement payments.”
