Akin and Counsel Jillian Kulikowski Recognized with Her Justice Commitment to Justice Awards
Her Justice, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to low-income women in matrimonial, family and immigration law, has honored Akin and litigation counsel Jillian Kulikowski as part of its 2024 Commitment to Justice Awards.
Her Justice has selected the firm to receive the Above & Beyond Award, which is given to those who make “remarkable contributions to help Her Justice achieve its various organizational goals” and “show up in memorable ways to support Her Justice’s mission, in the many shapes that it takes.”
“Akin has been a stalwart champion and supporter of Her Justice since 2000. From the stellar trauma-informed, client-centered lawyering of the attorneys, to the firm’s understanding of the importance of language access, to drafting white papers on policy issues affecting our clients, the level of dedication and importance the firm gives to pro bono is encouraging and awe-inspiring. Akin continues to push the boundaries of what pro bono can do to change lives and challenges others to do the same,” said Her Justice supervising attorney Esther Limb.
Her Justice has also recognized Jillian Kulikowski with its John K. Geiger Award, which honors attorneys whose unyielding compassion and dedication towards their clients is in a league of its own.
