Akin Chairperson Kim Koopersmith to Receive AmLaw’s Lifetime Achievement Award: Law Firm Distinguished Leader
The American Lawyer will honor Akin chairperson Kim Koopersmith with its 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award: Law Firm Distinguished Leader. The award will be presented at The American Lawyer’s Industry Awards in New York on November 13.
Under Koopersmith’s leadership as chairperson, Akin has achieved outstanding financial results, with revenue growing 77 percent and profits doubling. The firm also doubled its international footprint and now has over 20 percent of its lawyers located outside the US. During her time as chair, she has also been a leading voice at Akin and in the legal industry on the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion and pro bono, with Akin’s pro bono work approaching one million hours during her tenure.
The Lifetime Achievement Award honors those professionals who have left an indelible mark on the legal profession. The Law Firm Distinguished Leader of the Year award is given specifically to a lawyer whose lifetime of notable work includes successful law firm leadership who has transformed their firm and whose leadership will leave its mark well beyond their tenure.
