Akin Gump Honored for Work with D.C. Public High School Moot Court Team
(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is proud to announce that it is the recipient of the 2015 Community Partner Award from The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at American University Washington College of Law.
This award, presented on May 13 at the Project’s annual awards event, recognizes the time and efforts of Akin Gump lawyers who helped coach a team of Washington, D.C., public high school students preparing to compete in the National Marshall-Brennan High School Moot Court Competition.
The citywide D.C. team, comprising students from five District of Columbia high schools, reached the final rounds of the competitions held in March 2015 at D.C. Superior Court.
Akin Gump contributed coaches—associates Amanda Butler-Jones, Sheila McCorkle, Sarah Salzenberg and Chris Treanor and counsel Stanley Woodward—and judges—partners Christopher Keough and David Turetsky and associate Tom Moyer. Messrs. Treanor and Woodward co-led the Akin Gump effort.
