Akin Gump, Lawyers Shortlisted for Women in Business Law Awards Americas
(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that the firm and a number of its lawyers have been shortlisted for Euromoney’s Women in Business Law Awards Americas 2021.
In the individual lawyer categories, five Akin Gump partners were shortlisted:
- Corporate partner Kerry Berchem in the category “Corporate Governance Lawyer of the Year.”
- Corporate partner Alice Hsu in the category “Private Equity Lawyer of the Year.”
- Financial restructuring partners Naomi Moss and Sarah Link Schultz in the category “Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyer of the Year.”
- Communications and information technology practice head Jennifer Richter in the category “Technology Lawyer of the Year.”
In the firm awards categories, Akin Gump is shortlisted for:
- Work-Life Balance
- Women in Business Law – International Firm
- Innovative – International Firm.
The firm is also shortlisted for three “Jurisdiction awards”: US – North East, US – West, US – South.
The awards, per Euromoney, “recognize the leading women lawyers on both continents,” looking at the work they did during calendar year 2020 and also their advocacy, influence and though leadership in relation to the promotion of women in the practice of law and within practice area specialties. In the firm categories, the organizers recognize “firms that have developed the most progressive initiatives towards diversity and inclusion from throughout the continent.”
The winners will be announced on June 10 at a virtual awards presentation.
