Akin Gump Once Again Named Among Times “Best Law Firms”

(London) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that it has again been named a Best Law Firm by The Times, placing it among the top 200 legal practices in England and Wales in a list determined solely by lawyers’ votes. The firm is commended in the categories “company & commercial” and “insolvency & restructuring.”

The firm is singled out for its “lobbying prowess,” and its London office work noted as including litigation in London courts advising Russian oil company Tatneft in a complex fraud claim worth £292 million against four Ukrainian oligarchs.

Akin Gump London’s renowned financial restructuring team is also spotlighted, with its representation of parties in the restructurings of foreign exchange company Travelex (learn more here) and large North Sea oil independent producer Premier Oil (learn more here).

The firm is also noted as sole English counsel to the government of Egypt on the construction of a new administrative capital city east of Cairo.
