Akin Named Sukuk Legal Adviser of the Year 2024 by Global Banking & Markets: CEE, CIE & Türkiye
Akin has been named Sukuk Legal Adviser of the Year in the Global Banking & Markets CEE, CIS & Türkiye Awards 2024.
Akin has additionally been recognized for its work advising Ziraat Katılım Bankası A.Ş. in the Islamic Capital Markets Deal of the Year category. This marked the first international Sukuk issuance by a state-owned participation bank and the first non-sovereign Sukuk issuance from Türkiye since 2021.
The firm’s Islamic finance team has been recognized for its ability to navigate the best legal structures to achieve client goals, create bespoke solutions due to their experience with complex regulatory and compliance issues and deep understanding of the subtle differences in Shari’ah concerns in different jurisdictions across the MENA region.
The team has also recently advised on the first international public sukuk program by a Turkish participation bank and separately advised on the first ever sustainable sukuk issuance out of Kuwait.
