Akin Recognized as Leading Law Firm in Latin America by Legal 500 2025 Guide

Akin’s leading Latin America practice has received a number of recognitions for its lawyers and practices in the Legal 500 Latin America 2025 edition.

Within the International Firms category, Akin is ranked in Capital Markets, Corporate and M&A and Projects and Energy. The firm has also been recognized in City Leaders: Houston for its prominent standing in the energy sector and long history in Latin America.

Akin corporate partner and co-chair elect, Daniel Walsh is highlighted in Corporate and M&A due to his track record in Latin America M&A transactions, especially energy deals, alongside corporate senior counsel Cesar Gimenez Villamil.

Under Projects and Energy, co-head of projects & energy transition Matthew Kapinos and oil & gas counsel Eduardo Canales are noted as key members of the team.

Additionally, private equity partner Sergio Urias is spotlighted in Capital Markets, for his work on debt restructuring, and in Corporate and M&A for his representation of asset managers in Latin America. Sergio was also recognized in Chambers Latin America 2025 earlier this year.
