Akin corporate partner Carlos Bermudez has been named a ‘In-Kind Supporter of the Year’ finalist as part of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2025 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards.

According to LABJ, the In-Kind Supporter of the Year award honors leaders “within the for-profit space, who go above and beyond to support the nonprofit community as well.”

In LABJ’s published finalist profile, Carlos is noted as a “respected leader in his field,” regularly leading or playing critical roles in significant corporate transactions for some of the firm’s largest clients.

The publication also touts Carlos’ leadership outside of his fee-based work with his “unwavering support for nonprofit organizations.” The profile highlights his active role with the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) SoCal Public Schools, where he has served on the board of directors since June 2018. Carlos’ active pro bono practice is also noted as directly supporting KIPP SoCal’s mission.
