Crain’s New York Names Akin Partner Dean Chapman Among ‘Notable LGBTQIA+ Leaders’
Akin is pleased to share that Crain’s New York Business has named Dean Chapman to its 2023 Notable LGBTQIA+ Leaders list. The list recognizes individuals who work in a senior role in the New York metropolitan area and identify as LGBTQIA+. Honorees are “pacesetters who are driving equity and inclusion across the city's business community.”
In its profile of Dean, Crain’s notes that he is a litigator with a track record of handling complex restructuring disputes, and that, in the last 18 months, he has played leading roles in the restructurings of Celsius Network, Sears Holdings and GTT Communications.
His leading role internally is spotlighted as well, as Dean co-chairs the firm’s Out & Allied Firmwide Resource Group, which promotes diversity, equity and inclusion within Akin through training and communication.
Beyond his restructuring work, Crain’s notes, Dean devotes hundreds of hours to pro bono and diversity efforts, with a focus on representing the interests of the LGBTQIA+ community.
