Eric Muñoz, Akin Gump Recognized in Houston Business Journal Diversity Awards

(Houston) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that partner Eric Muñoz and the firm have been recognized with Houston Business Journal’s Diversity in Business Awards.

Mr. Muñoz, a corporate partner in the firm’s Houston office, was recognized as an Outstanding Diversity Champion, “individuals who have shown outstanding initiative to promote diversity and inclusion either within the community or their for-profit and nonprofit organizations, making a positive difference in others’ lives through contributions to social justice, equality and diversity.” Mr. Muñoz was also named a Diversity & Inclusion Champion by Texas Lawyer in 2020 (click here).

The firm’s Houston office was recognized among Outstanding Diverse Organizations in the Medium (100-499 employees) category for contributing “to harnessing diversity within their workforces and actively tak[ing] the lead to promote and champion the business case for diversity within the community or their industries.” Last year, the firm was selected among Dallas Business Journal’s Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion Organization (click here).

Individual and company winners will be recognized by Houston Business Journal at its 2022 Diversity in Business Awards luncheon on June 23 and will be featured in a special supplement in the June 24 weekly edition of Houston Business Journal.
