Katherine Goldstein Named to Securities Docket’s “Enforcement 40”
(New York) – Akin Gump white collar defense and government investigations partner Katherine Goldstein has been selected for inclusion in the Securities Docket “Enforcement 40,” a list of “the 40 best and brightest securities enforcement defense lawyers.”
Ms. Goldstein, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who joined Akin Gump in July (click here to learn more), has extensive government and private practice experience, having spent nearly a dozen years as a federal prosecutor. During that time, she served as Chief of the Southern District of New York’s Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force—the first woman to hold that position since the 1980s. She also served as Chief of the General Crimes unit.
Securities Docket says candidates for the “Enforcement 40” list must be attorneys who have been in the private sector for at least the past two years and have a practice that is at last 50 percent dedicated to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement defense work. Selections were based on nominations, input from senior lawyers in the field and independent research in order to answer the question who one would hire if faced with an important SEC enforcement matter.
