Kim Koopersmith Receives Fordham Law/Feerick Center ‘Spirit of Service’ Award
In a ceremony held on Monday in New York City, Akin chairperson Kim Koopersmith was among the recipients of the 2023 Feerick Center Awards. She received the Spirit of Service Award in recognition of her and the firm’s “extraordinary contributions,” including through its pro bono initiatives and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
The Feerick Center Awards recognize honorees’ commitment to service and social justice. The Feerick Center for Social Justice, which focuses on legal education in the service of others, is part of Fordham University School of Law, where Kim received her law degree.
Kim said of the recognition, “The Feerick Center’s great work addressing the legal needs of the most vulnerable is both necessary and invaluable. I am honored to be recognized by the Feerick Center and consider it a privilege to lead a law firm with such a deep commitment to providing pro bono services to those most in need.”
