Legal 500 Again Ranks Akin Gump Among Top Firms in Latin America Projects and Energy
(Washington, D.C.) – For the second year in a row, The Legal 500 Latin America has ranked Akin Gump among the world’s top firms for its work in Projects and Energy.
In the firm’s 2015 profile, The Legal 500 notes that Akin Gump is a “big name in renewables, especially in the solar and wind space, and is particularly active on behalf of developers, operators and exploration and production companies, as well as private equity sponsors” and spotlights the firm’s representation of Polaris Geothermal in the “development and financing of the San Jacinto project, Nicaragua’s largest geothermal power plant.”
Additionally, the guide points to the firm’s work on behalf of Barrick Gold in connection with the $4 billion Pueblo Viejo, Dominican Republic, gold mine project and operations, which involved the “development and financing of a 215MW dual fuel power facility, a 100km transmission line and related fuel supply infrastructure.”
