Michelle Chan, Shanna Miles, Jake Rodriguez Named to Participate in Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Programs
(Washington, D.C.) – Akin is pleased to share that three of its lawyers have been selected by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) to participate in the organization’s landmark programs.
Akin corporate & finance partner Michelle Chan was selected to be a member of the 2023 class of LCLD Fellows. Designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience, this landmark intensive year-long professional development program connects high-potential mid-career attorneys with leading general counsel, managing partners and their peers for mentoring and career guidance. LCLD Fellows participate in training sessions and have opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations as well as managing partners from the country’s most prestigious law firms.
Disputes & investigations counsel Shanna Miles and investment management & private equity counsel Jake Rodriguez were selected as members of the 2023 class of LCLD Pathfinders. Designed for high-potential early-career attorneys, this program connects attorneys with top leaders in the legal profession and career development experts to strengthen their foundational leadership skills and to gain practical tools necessary to develop and leverage internal professional networks and career development strategies.
Founded in 2009, LCLD actively promotes diversity and inclusion in the legal profession through initiatives aimed at advancing a new generation of leaders. Its members are either general counsel of corporations or managing partners of law firms who join individually on behalf of their respective organizations.
Akin is an active supporter of LCLD. Its participation in the Fellows program first began in 2013, when Akin disputes & investigations partner Estela Díaz was selected as the firm’s first Fellow (learn more here). Most recently, international trade partner Jaelyn Judelson participated as a Fellow, and disputes & investigations counsel Erica Holland and corporate counsel Kevin Tsai participated as Pathfinders (learn more here).
