National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics Names Ed Pagano a Top Lobbyist

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics (NILE) has named Akin Gump public law and policy partner Ed Pagano among the Top Lobbyists in the Large Firm category as part of the organization’s annual Top Lobbyists awards.
Nominees are proposed by colleagues and clients and evaluated in a blind judging process. Those recognized include government affairs professionals who, in NILE’s words, “saw significant legislative success in 2020, have been innovative in their field this year, are held in high regard by their clients, and are individuals who give back to their community through charity or pro bono work.”
Prior to joining Akin Gump in 2014, Mr. Pagano served in the Obama/Biden administration as Senate Liaison and Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. He also worked for nearly two decades with Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), both for the Senator’s office and the Senate Judiciary Committee, which Sen. Leahy chaired.
Most recently, Mr. Pagano was among an Akin Gump team named to Billboard’s 2020 Top Music Lawyers list on the strength of their work supporting independent music venues facing closure from the effects of the pandemic. Learn more here.
