National Law Journal Names Melissa Laurenza Among D.C.’s Rising Stars
(Washington, D.C.) – The National Law Journal has selected Akin Gump public law and policy partner Melissa Laurenza as one of its D.C.’s Rising Stars. The recognition honors 40 lawyers under the age of 40 who are among the “most accomplished young attorneys in the D.C. area.”
In its profile of Ms. Laurenza, NLJ notes her knowledgeable campaign financial advice derived from her time spent as a top attorney at the Federal Election Commission. It also notes her pro bono work helping parents advocate on Capitol Hill for their children diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder—an effort that won her the Stark Ritchie Award for outstanding commitment to pro bono services at the firm’s annual Pro Bono Awards.
Of her practice, Ms Laurenza told NLJ, “Thinking outside the box to find a solution for my clients without compromising the letter and spirit of the law is what I most enjoy about my practice.”
Founded in 1945, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
