Neal Marder, Vanessa Roman Named ‘Legal Visionaries’ by L.A. Times
Akin disputes & investigations partner Neal Marder and media & entertainment partner Vanessa Roman have been selected as Los Angeles Times’ Business of Law: Legal Visionaries for 2024.
The Legal Visionaries are profiled in the L.A. Times’ fourth annual Business of Law magazine for their contributions to their organizations and leadership in their field.
The L.A. Times notes Neal has led more than 50 trials and arbitrations representing major clients including McDonald’s, Eastman Kodak and C.R. England. Neal is additionally recognized for notable victories including dismissals in securities fraud cases for Kodak and Armistice, and precedent-setting wins in class action matters for C.R. England. The L.A. Times also highlights Neal’s dedication to pro bono work with the Western Center on Law & Poverty.
The L.A. Times describes Vanessa as a “prominent figure in corporate entertainment law” noting her work on recent deals including a $300-million credit facility for Miramax Films, multiple production loans for Asphalt City and Thug and a $40-million tax credit loan for Skydance. Vanessa is also recognized for her pro bono work on behalf of the American Film Institute and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and for serving on the board of Female Executives in Media and Entertainment.
