Eight at Akin Gump Named Among Washington's Top Lawyers
(Washington, D.C.) – Washingtonian magazine has named eight partners at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP to its list of “Top Lawyers.”
John M. Dowd, Thomas C. Goldstein, Terence J. Lynam, Mark J. MacDougall, Patricia A. Millett, Michele A. Roberts and Valerie A. Slater were recognized in their respective practice areas, while Robert S. Strauss, Akin Gump's founder, was singled out as one of just 10 “legendary Washington lawyers who will forever leave their mark on the District's legal landscape.”
Washingtonian also identified Ms. Roberts and Mr. Goldstein as two of the city’s 30 best lawyers. The magazine called Ms. Roberts “one of the best criminal lawyers around” and “one of the city’s most feared trial lawyers” and cited Mr. Goldstein as “one of the nation’s premier high-court lawyers.”
Compiled by the magazine’s editorial staff, the list identifies the Washington metropolitan area’s “best legal minds” in 29 categories.
