The American Lawyer Names Akin Gump a Finalist in Two Categories for Am Law Awards

(New York) – Akin Gump has been named a finalist for the inaugural The American Lawyer Industry Awards in the categories of Best Use of Technology and Best Client/Law Firm Team.

In the Best Use of Technology category, the firm is shortlisted for its development of an antiboycott compliance tool that reduced compliance processing time, increased compliance accuracy and saved considerable money and resources for clients.

For Best Client/Law Firm Team, the firm was shortlisted for its work on behalf of client Trinity Industries, Inc. Among recent successes, an Akin Gump team last year achieved a landmark False Claims Act victory on behalf of Trinity before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, overturning a $663 million judgment regarding allegedly defective highway guardrail end terminals. Winners will be announced at The American Lawyer Industry Awards gala in New York on December 5.
