Akin congressional investigations partner Thomas Moyer has been profiled by Law360 in its annual Rising Stars series, where he was recognized in the white collar category.

In his profile for the achievement, Law360 describes Tom’s progression into law, noting his passion for politics, and that Tom “served as an intern in the White House's Office of Political Affairs in 2006 and as a research intern for John McCain during his 2008 presidential campaign.”

When asked about his biggest case, Tom describes his involvement representing Deutsche Bank, serving “as counsel of record for the German multinational investment bank and financial services company in a lawsuit that Trump filed in 2019 challenging subpoenas from the House Committee on Financial Services and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.” Tom told Law360, the case resulted in a “new law testing the constitutionality of congressional requests for certain types of information.”

Discussing the future of the white collar industry, Tom says, "To the extent that Congress intends to continue utilizing those tools in new and expanded ways, we certainly could see a universe where challenges to Congress' authority become more frequent.”
