Commissioner Peirce Asks the SEC to Reevaluate ESG Metrics

On April 14, 2021, Commissioner Hester M. Peirce released a public statement imploring the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to rethink the push to require disclosure of specific environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics in light of the SEC’s recent request for comment on climate change disclosures and actions related to ESG matters.
