While the Department of the Treasury touted the nearly 200 clean energy projects launched since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (P.L. 117-169; IRA), environmental groups are calling on the Biden administration to address methane emissions linked to landfills. On the state level, Michigan’s legislators are considering a package that would solidify Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D-MI) climate plan, which includes a target of sourcing 60% of the state’s electricity from renewable resources. Finally, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) rolled out its global rules regarding corporate climate disclosure.
