Reinstating Service Members Discharged Under The Military’s Covid-19 Vaccination Mandate (Trump EO Tracker)

Summary

Provide a grand celebration worthy of the momentous occasion of the 250th anniversary of American Independence on July 4, 2026. Establish the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday (Task Force 250). 

Enforce the law to ensure that recipients of Federal funds providing K-12 education comply with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination in various contexts and protecting parental rights. All relevant agencies shall monitor compliance with section 111(b) of title I of Division J of Public Law 108-447, which provides that “[e]ach educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution,” including by verifying compliance with each educational institution that receives Federal funds. 

Support parents and states in universal K-12 scholarship programs, allowing families — rather than the government — to choose the best educational setting for their children. These States have highlighted the most promising avenue for education reform: educational choice for families and competition for residentially assigned, government-run public schools.

Direct the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security to take all appropriate actions to expand the Migrant Operations Center at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay to full capacity to provide additional detention space for high-priority criminal aliens unlawfully present in the United States, and to address attendant immigration enforcement needs identified by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. 

Rescinded: The White House Office of Management and Budget has rescinded its freeze on federal financial assistance, per a January 29 memo circulated to all federal departments and agencies. As a result, the original pause on agency funds, which itself had been subject to a federal district court stay until February 3, will not go forward.

This order directs the Secretary of Defense to promptly issue directives for DoD to end invented and identification-based pronoun usage to best achieve high standards for troops. Absent extraordinary operational necessity, the Armed Forces shall neither allow males to use or share sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities designated for females, nor allow females to use or share sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities designated for males. 

This order makes reinstatement available to all members of the military who were discharged solely for refusing to comply the Department of Defense’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, as administered on August 24, 2021, and revoked January 10, 2023. The order further directs that all reinstated service members revert to their former rank and receive full back pay, benefits, bonus payments, or compensation. Lastly, the order allows for the reinstatement of any service member who exited service voluntarily because of the vaccine mandate, provided they submit written and sworn attestation.
