(London) – Akin Gump lawyers are advising on a high-profile matter —being closely watched in the global investment funds industry—that The Lawyer has featured among the top cases for 2023.
The case, which is expected to go to trial in 2023, relates to a landmark judicial review claim brought against the London Metal Exchange (LME) by three firms, Elliot Associates, Elliott International and Jane Street Global Trading, relating to the suspension of the nickel market and the unprecedented cancellation of billions of dollars in trades in March 2022, purportedly in response to market conditions. Elliott and Jane Street are seeking significant damages from the LME arising from the cancellation of their trades.
Akin Gump litigation partners Richard Hornshaw and Kambiz Larizadeh, with associates Anna Storer, Alexander Armytage and Jasmine Alexander, are instructing Monica Carss-Frisk KC and Iain Steele at Blackstone Chambers on behalf of Elliott Associates and Elliott International.
