Practical Law, in its Finance Global Guide 2020, has published the chapter “Lending and taking security in the UK (England and Wales): overview,” written by Akin Gump corporate partner Robert Aulsebrook, senior counsel Inderveer Hothi and associate Herman Park.
The authors provide an overview of the lending market, with an examination of some of the main trends and important developments over the past year. They also look at different forms of security over assets as well as some of the most common types of financial instruments over which security is granted.
Other areas of focus in the chapter include risk areas for lenders, structuring the priority of debts, and debt trading and transfer mechanisms.
