Akin Gump Expands ERISA Practice

(New York, New York) – Rolf Zaiss has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as a partner in the ERISA practice in New York, the firm announced today.
Mr. Zaiss’ practice focuses on the employee benefits and executive compensation-related aspects of M&A transactions. A veteran of hundreds of public and private mergers, leveraged buyouts and asset deals, he also advises clients on executive compensation strategy, design and implementation, and on the securities law treatment of employee compensation.
Mr. Zaiss stated, “I am thrilled to be part of the Akin Gump team and the growing New York office. The firm’s reputation and track record in high-level complex deals make it a great fit for me.”
Mr. Zaiss received his B.A. magna cum laude from Queens College in 1989 and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 1991. He joins the firm from Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.
