Anthony Pierce, partner in charge of Akin Gump’s Washington, D.C. office, moderated the “Virtual Capital Region Business Forum,” which brought together the mayor of Washington, D.C. and the governors of Virginia and Maryland for an open conversation on issues facing the region’s business community.
Discussion topics included controlling COVID-19 transmission, supporting the region’s economy, and promoting racial and social equity.
The Washington Business Journal, in reporting on the event, noted that the three elected leaders all expressed concern about the pandemic’s looming economic impact on the region’s transit systems.
