(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that it has been selected as an honoree by CIO magazine for its “CIO 100 Awards” as an organization that uses IT effectively to create business value and applies it in “innovative ways to deliver competitive advantage to the enterprise and enable growth.”
Akin Gump is the only law firm so honored in 2014. This recognition marks the firm’s debut among the CIO 100, which features such industry leaders as Verizon, Intel Corp., General Motors, The New York Times Co. and Procter & Gamble.
Organizations so honored, according to the publication, “demonstrate excellence and achievement in IT” and are selected through a “systematic and very competitive” process. Applicants are gathered through a combined nomination and in-house recommendation system by CIO’s editorial team and are then judged based on, among other factors, the depth and breadth of their practices, their creativity and the specific measurable results of their achievements.
Founded in 1945, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a leading international law firm, numbers more than 850 lawyers in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
