Akin Gump public law and policy partner Ed Pagano has been quoted in the Roll Call article “Change of government and political turmoil keep lobbyists busy, disclosures show.” The article reports on what is likely to fuel the lobbying industry this year.

According to Roll Call, the Biden-Harris administration’s infrastructure proposal, as well as possible tax increases to help pay for it, are likely to dominate the lobbying agenda. In addition, the return of congressional earmarks and possible additional COVID-19 relief measures are also shaping up as top issues, along with immigration, health care, defense and trade.

Pagano said he expects a “vigorous debate” over infrastructure in the coming months. “For the lobbying industry, we want to have our clients in the best positions, so certainly we’re very active on what is going to be included in the final definition of infrastructure,” he said.
