Ed Pagano Quoted on Dems’ Control of the Senate

For its report “Democrats Defend Control Of U.S. Senate,” news network Newsy has quoted Akin Gump public law and policy partner Ed Pagano. The article looks at Democratic efforts to retain the Senate and expand the party’s majority in the upcoming midterm elections.

Pagano, who served in the Obama administration as Senate Liaison and Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, said, “The control of the Senate really is critical. It determines what bills are on the floor, what nominations move forward, who is the chairman or the chair of the committees of jurisdiction?”

He added that getting GOP support for a Democratic president’s agenda will be difficult: “Social issues? I don't see any agreement. And as for spending, very little.”
