(New York) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce it has been selected by Financial Times as one of the most innovative U.S. law firms in FT’s 2013 U.S. Innovative Lawyers report. Firms selected for this honor are, according to the publication, doing more than “something original and delivering a different order of service.” They are also inspiring “eulogies from clients … consistently and effectively across their businesses” with results that “define the best work of the profession.”
The firm was also recognized in two individual categories:
- Corporate law, for advising Vision Capital in a “first-of-its kind transaction allowing a bidder group to acquire a valuable fund at the end of its term, creating a model for future deals.” (More about that deal can be found by clicking here.)
- Business of law, for developing http://www.agfundinformation.com, “a website that formalises and standardises forming hedge funds.”
Akin Gump litigation partner Steve Pesner and corporate partner Trey Muldrow led the Akin Gump team advising Vision Capital, and investment funds partner Eliot Raffkind led the effort to develop the Fund in-Formation website.
Attorneys from Akin Gump have been recognized in each of the four years to date that Financial Times has produced its U.S. Innovative Lawyers report.
Founded in 1945, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a leading international law firm, numbers more than 850 lawyers in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
