For its article, “The Defanging of U.S. Watchdogs,” the Financial Times quoted Akin investment management partner Brian Daly. The article discusses ongoing challenges faced by U.S. regulatory agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission caused by big businesses and conservative court rulings, limiting their ability to implement new regulations.

“There’s been a complete reset,” Brian told the Financial Times. “Industries have discovered that the world doesn’t end when you sue your primary regulator.”
