Private Equity International has published the article “What PE investors need to know about the U.K. National Security Review proposal,” written by Akin Gump international trade partner Jasper Helder, corporate partner Shaun Lascelles and international trade counsel Daniel Lund. The article examines the impact of the U.K. National Security and Investment Bill 2019-20 on private equity investment activity.

The authors write that the various proposals “are likely to affect a wide range of investment activity and could impact private equity firms that count on foreign nationals and foreign governmental entities among their investors.” They then outline what those proposals are and offer some suggestions on how PE investors should begin planning.
