(London) - Akin Gump London-based disputes partner Justin Williams was quoted by Commercial Dispute Resolution in an article that considers a recent decision by the Singapore High Court affirming its own jurisdiction over a dispute involving a non-fungible token (NFT).

Williams provided insight into the relevance of the decision to the EU as well as the U.K: “Whilst the decision is only interlocutory, it is likely that English and EU courts will take the Singapore Court’s reasoning into account when considering similar issues relating to crypto-assets. It is well-established that English courts will consider decisions of foreign courts on novel issues, especially in circumstances in which there is little existing case law in the area.”
