Akin lobbying & public policy senior consultant Kevin Brady dives into the realities of tax reform on Bloomberg’s ‘Odd Lots’ podcast. Drawing from his key role in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as the former Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, Brady offers unique insights into the 2017 tax code overhaul and what happens when some provisions expire in 2025.

“You work with the Senate, the White House, constant media presence, lots of groups attacking or supporting, it’s sort of a hurricane of input,” says Brady.

With tax policy being a key focus of the 2024 election, Brady reflects on the challenges of changing the tax code. “You turn the Rubik’s cube to figure out if we do this, what do we get, what kind of growth, who pays the taxes, what’s the cost of all that?”
