WorldECR has published “Ten informal rules for AUKUS success” an article co-authored by Akin international trade partner Kevin Wolf. The article discusses the implementation of the AUKUS provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act and provides 10 suggestions for the success of AUKUS, drawing from the authors' experience with past defense trade treaties and export control reform.

The authors begin, “As much work that went into the creation of the National Defense Authorization Act’s AUKUS provisions, the arguably more challenging part – implementation – now stands before the US administration. The AUKUS provisions contain multiple requirements to ensure that the AUKUS partnership policy objectives will be timely and effectively implemented. These include the creation of senior advisors, a task force, revised control lists, new interagency processes, and new regulations.”
