Akin Gump litigation partners David Zensky and Mitchell Hurley are noted as counsel for the Tribune litigation trustee in a Law360 article, titled “$200M Settlement Reached In Tribune Media Clawback Suit.”

The article reports on a motion for approval of a $200 million settlement that “would put to rest the trustee’s claims against a number of former Tribune executives and employees for a payout that … would be ‘significantly’ beyond available insurance coverage.” According to Law360, the deal also would require the settling defendants, including real estate mogul Sam Zell, former Tribune Media CEO Dennis FitzSimons and a number of the company’s former directors, to cooperate in future depositions related to the case. It also calls for the implementation of a bar order protecting them from litigation by nonsettling defendants.
