Akin lobbying & public policy senior counsel Reggie Babin was quoted by The Washington Post and appeared on the POLITICO Tech podcast regarding the U.S. Senate’s “Driving U.S. Innovation in Artificial Intelligence.”

On POLITICO Tech’s “Chuck Schumer Just Fired the Senate’s AI Starting Gun,” Reggie, former chief counsel to Senate Majority Leader Schumer, sat down for in-depth discussion about the development and potential impact of AI policy following the publishing of Senate’s AI Roadmap. Among the topics covered, he said, "The most important thing is that committees in the Senate have clarity in terms of what the majority leader thinks is important, which is obviously always an important factor in all this." For The Post, Reggie said, “The goal of the process was to figure out how to make sure that 80 percent of stakeholders in the middle of this conversation are satisfied while preserving space for continued engagement on all fronts. I think the working group hit that mark.” Read the full article here.
