Ryan Cox Quoted in The Texas Lawbook on 2019 Capital Markets Activity

Akin Gump corporate partner Ryan Cox has been quoted by The Texas Lawbook in the article “Texas Lawyers’ Capital Markets Deals Down Nearly 25% in 2019,” which reports on a decrease in the number of capital markets deals by lawyers in the Lone Star State last year.
The article says that, while the number of deals declined, the value of those transactions jumped by one third. And while the year started off slowly, Cox said the pace picked up in the second half.
“We started to see a lot more activity in mid- to late 2019, as everyone had expected a recession earlier in the year and it never came,” said Cox. “One company was even kicking around the idea of an initial public offering.”
