For its article “China, India Step Up Antitrust Regulation, Throwing Tech Industry a Curve,” Legaltech News has quoted Akin antitrust/international competition partner Scott Pettifor. The article reports on how antitrust regulators are shortening the leash for tech multinationals.
In the article, Scott advises now would be a good time for tech companies to staff up on their antitrust attorneys noting that large tech companies have “done a good job at having excellent corporate lawyers on board and antitrust lawyers that deal [with cartel behaviour] or abuse of dominance.” Scott also suggests more companies should invest in merger-control specialists to help “shape and guide their filing strategies.”
