(Houston) - Steve Davis, a Houston-based partner in the firm’s energy and global transactions practice, was named by Houston Business Journal to the 2012 Who’s Who in Energy, a listing of approximately 700 of the “industry’s movers and shakers across seven U.S. cities”: Dallas, Denver, Houston, St. Louis, San Antonio, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
In response to the question “What is the greatest challenge right now for the energy industry?” Davis responded, “The quality of its relationship with governments and the public. This is true domestically but also internationally. Too often, the energy industry is demonized by politicians seeking to score points with certain constituents, while the energy industry itself is often not well coordinated or effective in its response to attacks, for example in making the point that the enormous risks that oil and gas companies take, and the huge amount of capital they deploy, justify the significant profits they can make if successful.”
