Akin white collar defense & government investigations partner Claudius Modesti is featured in The Wall Street Journal’s article about the future of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) under President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration. The article, titled “PCAOB Critic Picked for SEC Chair, Raising Potential for a Smaller Audit Watchdog,” explores Trump’s plans to nominate Paul Atkins to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which oversees the PCAOB.

In the past, the SEC has replaced the PCAOB chair under new administrations. As a former PCAOB enforcement director, Claudius tells The Wall Street Journal, “I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to think that may occur again.”
