(Singapore) – Akin advised one of India’s leading mid-market private equity firms, Lighthouse Funds, on the successful launch of Lighthouse Fund IV at US$475 million (INR 4,000 crore).
Lighthouse seeks to invest in rapidly growing small and mid-sized enterprises in India across industry sectors, striving to capitalize on key demographic and economic trends, particularly consumer mobility and growing consumption, to provide diversified exposure to India’s expanding economy.
Fundraising significantly exceeded expectations, and Lighthouse Fund IV closed 30% above its target size.
The Akin team served as international counsel led by investment management counsel Andrew Krebsbach, with investment management partners Olivia Chung, John Holton and Ezra Zahabi; tax partners Stuart Alter and Matthew Durward-Thomas; and support from counsel Suley Siddiqui and associates Simrita Dhamodaran, Velma Cao and Aaron Jenman.
Andrew commented, “The Lighthouse raise underscores the importance of a coordinated, multijurisdictional approach for Indian fund managers operating in global capital markets. These markets present complex challenges, requiring counsel well versed in evolving investor expectations and fund terms.”
Akin is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
